Mnuchin, Ross Confirm Nominations

Steven Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross have confirmed their nominations for Treasury secretary and Commerce secretary, respectively.

The two appeared on CNBC to confirm reports on Tuesday regarding their nominations.

“I didn’t think I’d ever have a boss again,” said Ross, a billionaire investor who has no political experience.

Mnuchin, who also lacks experience in the government, said he trusted President-elect Trump from the start of his campaign.

"This was never a gamble from my perspective. I've known the president-elect for over 15 years, I believed in his policies and I thought he would win," Mnuchin said. "I did this because I believed in it."

Creating good jobs will be a priority for the incoming Trump administration, he added.

"For the average American worker, they've gotten nowhere [during President Obama’s administration],” Mnuchin said. "Our job is to make sure that the average American worker has wage increases and has good jobs. That's the priority of this administration."

Former RNC Chair and incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said the two men will be “in lockstep” with Trump and Vice President-elect Pence.

"I mean, there’s just no question about it," Priebus said on MSNBC. "They wouldn't be offered a position if they didn't follow suit with the exact things that President Trump wanted. In fact, Steve Mnuchin was part of writing that hundred-day plan and that speech that Donald Trump gave a few weeks ago about what the first 100 days would be like.”
