Axne, a first-time candidate and small business owner, went after Young for his vote in favor of GOP tax cuts law and the House GOP’s bill to repeal Obamacare.

President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence both participated in Iowa rallies last month to campaign for Young.

Des Moines and rural areas are part of Iowa’s third congressional district which Obama carried in 2012 and Trump carried it in 2016.
