Ray LaHood, Obama's Favorite "Republican"

Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood was held up, when he was nominated, as a model for President Obama's "pragmatic bipartisanship" or whatever nonsense the media was spouting about their man-crush Obama. LaHood served in Congress as a Republican.

It turns out that Secretary LaHood should be held up as the model that Obama does indeed search for, but not because he's "conservative" in any way.

In response to news that an airline announced that it is going to start charging for carry-on luggage, Secretary LaHood frothed at the mouth while saying he's going to "hold the airline's feet to the fire on this."

No self-respecting conservative pledges to drag a private business through the mud when it makes a business decision about pricing. LaHood has turned out to be exactly an Obama-model politico: a government meddler that often conflates "I don't like that" with "that must be illegal, or something."
