Secretary Pompeo Postpones Trip to Greenland

LONDON — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo postponed his trip to Greenland Thursday, which was planned at the end of a four day swing through Europe.

“Secretary Pompeo must postpone his visit to Greenland due to a need for the Secretary to be in Washington, DC today. We look forward to rescheduling the Secretary’s visit at a time convenient for Greenland, Denmark, and the United States,” State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus released in a statement Thursday morning. “As the Secretary noted in his speech in Rovaniemi on Monday, the United States remains committed to increasing our already robust engagement with Arctic allies and partners.”
