After decades of enlightening the world through his literary work, Dr. Thomas Sowell has officially penned his last column and is saying farewell.
“Even the best things come to an end. After enjoying a quarter of a century of writing this column for Creators Syndicate, I have decided to stop,” Sowell writes today, detailing the enormous change he’s seen through the decades of his life and career. “Age 86 is well past the usual retirement age, so the question is not why I am quitting, but why I kept at it so long.”
Dr. Sowell is the most-read conservative columnist of all time. Over the years, Townhall has been honored with publishing nearly 2000 of his columns. When we launched back in 1995, he was one of our first contributors. We are immensely grateful for his incredible contribution to our site, the conservative cause and his lifelong efforts to better the country through intellectual debate.
Millions will miss reading his timely columns, archived here, but Dr. Sowell’s work will certainly be remembered and widely respected for generations to come.
From the entire Townhall team, thank you Dr. Sowell.
