Four Days After Orlando, Obama Finally Calls Florida Governor To Offer Condolences

President Obama had no problem rushing to blame Sunday's horrific Islamic terror attack in Orlando on guns, but he sure wasn't in a hurry to call Florida Governor Rick Scott to offer condolences.

Today, four days later, he finally did. More from The Hill

"The President called to offer his condolences. Governor Scott reiterated his request for the Emergency Declaration requested on Monday," Scott spokeswoman Lauren Schenone told The Hill.

Scott's office released a revised public schedule Wednesday that noted a call with Obama shortly before 1 p.m. Details on how long the call lasted were not provide.

This week President Obama has been busy on the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton, warning Americans not about the dangers of Islamic extremism, but about Donald Trump. His aides at the White House had plenty of room in his schedule for that, but apparently a phone call to offer condolences after the worst terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11 had to wait. As noted above, Obama still hasn't approved Governor Scott's request for an Emergency Declaration.
