Perjury Charges Coming for Eric Holder?

Yesterday, damning new documents show Attorney General Eric Holder knew about Operation Fast and Furious nearly a year before he claimed during Congressional testimony on May 3. Now, House Republicans are calling for the White House to appoint a special committee to determine whether or not Holder did in fact lie under oath and perjure himself.

Eric Holder May 3, 2011:

"I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

July 2010:

Memos addressed directly to Eric Holder about Operation Fast and Furious.

As usual, the Obama Justice Department is trying to spin and lie about what Holder really meant during his testimony in May.

In response to the documents released Monday, the Justice Department said Holder's response referred to when he first learned of the "troubling tactics" of the program, not the name of it. A department spokesman also says that the "gun walking" referred to in the October 2010 email exchange is about another case initiated before Operation Fast and Furious.

The response from the Obama Justice Department is typical of the response we’ve been getting since the investigation into Operation Fast and Furious started. Holder should be dragged before Congress to "clarify" his remarks and to explain why memos about Fast and Furious dated as far back as July 2010 were addressed directly to him. Afterall, according to Holder's own testimony, he had only been briefed on the program just a "few weeks" prior to testimony in May.

Let the hearings begin.

Sidenote: At minimum 200 people in Mexico and two Americans have been murdered as a result of Operation Fast and Furious.
