Jeb Bush Nicknames SC Senator "Hurricane Katrina"

At a campaign event in South Carolina last night, Jeb Bush compared State Senator Katrina Shealy to the 2005 hurricane that struck Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

"When I was governor, in 16 months, we had eight hurricanes and four tropical storms and one of em was called Katrina," Bush said with laughter.

"I don't know why your great state senator, uh, reminds me of a hurricane, but she does.  She's strong, she's fierce, and she's solving problems for you at the state capitol."

"In the Bush family we always give out nicknames so yours is now Hurricane Katrina."

Hurricane Katrina killed almost 2,000 people along the gulf coast and caused more than $108 billion in damages.
