School District in Tennessee Arms Teachers

A select few teachers in Keene Independent School District of Tennessee will now be armed in their classrooms as of 2016.

Superintendent Ricky Stephens was against arming anyone inside schools but now, he says, the world has changed and so has his opinion.

The carriers would be selected by the school district and would remain anonymous and the firearms will be provided to each of those teachers by the district.

Some Parents told FOX 6 that they were concerned of the board's decision.

"It could still turn into a gun fight no matter who has the gun, or children could get the gun,” said Tanya Manuel. “I mean, it doesn't matter. It just scares me still."
