Baucus Admits He Didn't Read Health Care Bill

Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), who had a heavy hand in crafting the health care bill, was defensive when asked by a constituent if he had actually read the thing.
I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language...We hire experts.

More telling, I think, was his response when asked if the bill was Constitutional. Here's the report from the Flathead Beacon in Montana:
In response to [a constituent's] question and another from a woman asking if the health care law was Constitutional, Baucus gave a broad defense of the changes, comparing them to programs like Social Security and Medicare that were unpopular when passed but have proven beneficial to Americans over the long term.
That's a non-answer.
