Democratic Infighting, Edition II

I posted yesterday about the internal squabbles between Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), as a result of their conflicting opinions about what the third main item on the Democrats legislative agenda. Schumer wants immigration, and Kerry wants climate change, but Obama wants nothing, because he's already suffering from blowback on health care and the economy.

Politico has another item out today that further elaborates on the Democrats catfight, now extended to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel is probably miffed about the installation of 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe as the new political guru, who has a reputation for a bare-knuckle approach. Pelosi is of course antsy about her hard work on health care turning into nothing, while Reid's re-election prospects get dimmer every day Obama is still in office. In short: it really isn't much of a party these days.

Even retiring Rep. Marion Berry (D-Ark.) said that Obama had dismissed the possibility of a 1994-like Republican revolution because of Obama's personality. Maybe that's why Berry left. Who wants a leader who thinks he can fix things based on the cult of his own personality?
