Poor Sport: Rep. Gutierrez to Boycott Presidential Inauguration

Rep. Luis Gutierrez revealed to CNN Friday morning that he would be boycotting Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

“I’m not going to this inauguration. I can’t go to this inauguration because he continues to spew hatred, bigotry and prejudice even after he said he was going to bring us all together, he was going to unify, but he’s not,” the Democrat from Chicago said.

Instead, Gutierrez and his wife will be attending protests in January against Donald Trump.

About his claim that Trump is failing to “unify” the country - it’s not certain what Gutierrez was referring to. President-elect Trump gave a unifying speech on election night reaching out to those who didn’t vote for him. Trump was never a part of the protest-turned-riots that occurred across the country after he was elected. Trump is not at fault for a ridiculous recount in states he won fair and square.

These are real events that are keeping the country divided.

Accusing someone of failing to unify the country while at the same breath announcing you are attending protests is hypocrisy taken to a whole new level.
