Are We Better Off?

On ABC’s Sunday morning program, This Week, David Plouffe still couldn’t answer this constantly asked question. When asked the age-old question if we are better off now than we were 4 years ago Mr. Plouffe dodged the bullet quite handily.

He was asked the same question 3 different times, but each time found a way around the root problem: we aren’t any better off now than we were 4 years ago. The third and final time Mr. Stephanopoulos asked,

“You still can't say 'yes?'” -- and again Plouffe punted: “We've clearly improved from the depths of the recession.” He went on to list areas where he said matters had improved: manufacturing, lowering the unemployment rate, and in the auto industry.

When will the White House realize that the American people deserve answers as to why the economy has not improved the way they said it would? When will they finally confess that things aren’t better and President Obama has not followed through on his promises? It’s about time they take ownership over what is going on with the economy and stop blaming others before them.
