Romney Ad: No Laughing Matter

Fresh from Team Romney, a debate-themed ad juxtaposing Paul Ryan's sober discussion of prudent economic policies with Joe Biden's guffaws and obnoxious mugging.  The spot is called "Fiscal Discipline," but "no laughing matter" seems at least as appropriate:

This ad drives home the seriousness of the issues we face as a nation and the political shallowness of the current administration.  The Obama camp, by contrast, is apparently still running their pathetic Big Bird ad.  It's not just conservatives who were unimpressed with Biden's sophomoric behavior, either.  Here is NBC's Tom Brokaw upbraiding the Vice President for conducting himself like chuckles the clown during a discussion of Iranian nukes:

For a real laugh, check out Reuters' online poll of supposed early voters, which purports to show a "wide lead" for Obama among those who have already cast their ballots.  It has a ten point margin of error, and only 24 percent of the sample -- 115 people total -- is drawn from swing states.  The survey features 13 (!) Ohioans, and measures several Colorado "early voters," even though the state's early voting doesn't begin for another week.  The Romney campaign is aggressively debunking the poll, the results of which appear to contradict actual early ballot request figures in Virginia, Ohio (also see this), and Colorado.

UPDATE - Ed Morrissey flags some interesting Florida polling data on the VP debate:

13% say they changed which candidate for President they support as a result of the debate. Of those who tell SurveyUSA they changed their mind:

44% switched from the Obama ticket to the Romney ticket.
29% switched from undecided to the Romney ticket.
A total of 73% switched to the Romney ticket

...A total of 24% switched to the Obama ticket.
