“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages, and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you’ve read it?”As I wrote at the time, Conyers actually is a lawyer. And now we know why he can't spare the time to read bills: He's too busy getting his thrills reading Playboy in public. Thanks to Republicans' 63-seat gain on November 2nd, Conyers will no longer be the House Judiciary Committee Chairman when Congress reconvenes in January.
The only defense I can possibly muster for this guy is that maybe he's a little lonely these days, now that his eminently ladylike wife is -- shall we say -- unavailable.
