...to 9.6 percent, an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point.  This is bad news for Americans, as "recovery summer" has officially flopped, and even worse news for

the party that spent $862 Billion of our money promising to halt that number at 8 percent.

UPDATE: President Obama has weighed in on the new unemployment numbers, calling them "positive news" and a "step in the right direction."  ABC's Jake Tapper points out that the president curiously refrained from mentioning the net loss of 54K jobs.
