In a move likely to deal a blow to U.S. security, the Obama administration has agreed to establish contact with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, according to TheBlaze.com and Politico.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is quoted in TheBlaze/AP article as saying the United States is going to be in contact with non-violent organizations.
'“We believe, given the changing political landscape in Egypt, that it is in the interests of the United States to engage with all parties that are peaceful, and committed to non-violence, that intend to compete for the parliament and the presidency,” Clinton told reporters at a news conference."
I would hate to think that Clinton is less-schooled on the matter of Muslim Brotherhood violence than a 25-year old civilian, but in case she doesn't know, Muslim Brotherhood documents found in Virginia in an FBI raid -- which included a blueprint for how the organization would infiltrate the United States -- talked about "training on the use of weapons domestically and overseas in anticipation of zero-hour" (this is information that a Team B II member reported on). Their plan in America, at least, is violent overthrow, and just because they don't begin their quest in violence does not mean they don't conclude it in violence.
Another Team B II member, Stephen Coughlin, a former counsultant to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote in a 2007 thesis:
"As recent events indicate, while the Muslim Brotherhood attempts to strike a moderate pose for Western consumption; its senior leaders are taking the same position as bin Laden. Both Mahdi ‘Akef, Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood and Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, Muslim Brotherhood leader and recognized religious authority, took positions recently that conform to Islamic law and in so doing concurred in Osama Bin Laden’s reasoning."
Just look at the rhetoric of a man who influenced the Muslim Brotherhood. From the same thesis:
"The Muslim Brotherhood’s most influential thinker was Sayyid Qutb. His most popular tract was written while awaiting execution in Egypt in 1966. Titled Milestones, Qutb discussed Islam and the role of jihad:
Since the objective of the message of Islam is a decisive declaration of man's freedom, not merely on the philosophical plane but also in the actual conditions of life, it must employ Jihaad. …. The reasons for Jihaad which have been described in the above verses are these; to establish God's authority in the earth; to arrange human affairs according to the true guidance provided by God; to abolish all the Satanic forces and Satanic systems of life; and to end the lordship of one man over others since all men are creatures of God and no one has the authority to make them his servants or to make arbitrary laws for them."
The Politico article points out that, prior to the administration's announcement, "The Muslim Brotherhood .... has previously had some communication with the U.S. through Brotherhood Members of Parliament who had been technically elected as independents. U.S. diplomats had been instructed only to deal with Brotherhood members in their role as Members of Parliament."
