The Shark Tank is reporting that a source says Donald Trump may run as an independent in the 2012 presidential race, since he perceives the GOP field right now as weak. According to Javier Manjarres's post at Shark Tank,

"The source also disclosed that Trump was overwhelmed with e-mails, letters, and phone calls from disappointed supporters who wanted him to enter the 2012 presidential field after he recently bowed out of consideration from the Republican primary field."

Trump's most notorious moment during his flirtation with the GOP nomination this year was the revelation of Barack Obama's birth certificate, which Trump hounded the president to reveal.
