California voters are pushing back against Democrats as they seek to secure the integrity of the state’s elections.

A ballot petition to require voter ID and limit voting to U.S. citizens has already collected 1.3 million signatures, well over the 874,641 needed to qualify for the November ballot. If approved, the measure would amend the state constitution to mandate voter ID, verify the citizenship of all registered voters, and ensure the state maintains accurate voter rolls.

"We do not run a very efficient election process here in the state of California, and a lot of people have no confidence in the election process in California. So this is a step forward," Corona Republican Congressman Ken Calvert said, adding that "This is not a burden. This is something that we use every single day."

The initiative took just five months to gather enough signatures across every county in the state.

This comes as Democrats have been forced to address the fact that the vast majority of Americans, including Independent and Democratic voters, support requirements for voter identification.

It appears that even voters in one of the most liberal states in the country have had enough, and seek to take matters into their own hands.
