Michigan state Senator Mallory McMorrow, a Democrat running for the U.S. Senate in 2026, said she “would not be able to control” if she encountered Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett or Brett Kavanaugh, saying she would throw beers "in people's faces."

“I talked to somebody yesterday who said they saw her with Brett Kavanaugh at a tailgate last weekend. I was like, ‘I would not be able to control myself,'” McMorrow said. “That would be a bad; there would be beers thrown in people’s faces.”

This comes as several Democratic candidates, and Democrats in general, have expressed the desire to inflict violence upon those they disagree with. Most notably, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General of Virginia, Jay Jones, said he often fantasized about shooting former House Speaker for the Virginia House of Delegates, Todd Gilber,t and his children. Jones promptly won his election in November.

McMorrow is one of three Democrats vying to replace retiring Senator Gary Peters, a Democrat, in what’s shaping up to be one of 2026’s most closely watched races, as Republicans are eager to seize the open seat. The 39-year-old has served in the Michigan Senate since 2019 and became majority whip in 2023, championing abortion rights in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

Earlier this year, she drew attention for associating with a radical leftist blogger who mocked Charlie Kirk after his assassination, attending a fundraiser with Rebecca Schoenkopf, who had published an article the day after Kirk’s death titled “Second Amendment Comes for Charlie Kirk.”
