Poll: Lots of Young People "Not Familiar" With Obamacare

And yet they are the ones who will ultimately pay for it. Splendid. As the Baby Boomer generation continues to age (and health care costs soar as projected) the young and healthy will inevitably be forced to pick up the bulk of the tab. This is not right-wing fearmongering, either. This is simple arithmetic. The Affordable Care Act is not sustainable without younger Americans flooding the marketplaces and enrolling in the exchanges (perhaps this is why the White House launched an initiative over Thanksgiving to make it easier for proponents of the law to convince their younger relatives to sign up). Meanwhile, Gallup reports that 37 percent of millennials are “not familiar” with a law that, at the end of the day, could very well impact their lives in ways they never expected. Super:

But the administration can’t be losing too much sleep over millennials’ relative apathy and ignorance. Why? Because the more they learn about the president’s signature health care law, the more inclined they are to “disapprove” of it:

Best to keep the talking points and facile arguments coming rather than explain all the security risks involved in acquiring health insurance on the government exchanges, although I suspect they won't be able to keep up the charade forever.
