Here's What Gowdy Plans to Ask FBI Director Wray at Today's Hearing

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) knows exactly what he's going to ask FBI Director Christopher Wray at Thursday's House Judiciary Committee hearing.

Gowdy will begin his interrogation demanding to know how Wray will restore Americans' confidence in the FBI, he told Fox News. The agency's integrity has been tarnished in light of reports that agents treated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a fragile subject who did not deserve to be subjected to an aggressive investigation.

Just this week, we learned how FBI agent Peter Strzok softened language from "gross negligence" to "extremely careless" in terms of concluding how Clinton handled national security information on her private server.

Strzok was also one of the lead investigators on the Robert Mueller probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. When Strzok was found to have sent pro-Hillary, anti-Trump texts to his mistress last year, he was dismissed from the investigation. The DOJ is now analyzing more than 10,000 of the agent's texts.

"If he had pro-Clinton or anti-Trump bias, what the hell was he doing interviewing Hillary Clinton?" Gowdy demanded.

House Republicans have called for a second special counsel investigation against Hillary Clinton and the "special treatment" she received from the FBI during the email probe.

Gowdy believes more cases of bias and obstruction within the agency are going to be exposed as the investigation unfolds.

Wray will testify before the House Judiciary beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
