Guy brought you the details from Republicans' leaked Obamacare replacement plan. About 24 hours after the draft was leaked, top Republicans are saying it is a no-go.
The draft is “no longer even a viable draft that we’re working off of,” Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) said on Tuesday.
The decision reportedly comes after several GOP members, such as Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), said they could not vote for the legislation as is.
“That draft is not even representative of where we are,” Scalise continued. “He’s working with us and we’re in direct conversations with the chairman of the RSC as well as others about the best way to build a consensus to pass a bill to gut ObamaCare.”
Back to square one? Not quite. Scalise says the leaked draft is merely an earlier version of the legislation they have now.
In an interview with "Today" on Tuesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan said the Republicans are united in their rescue mission to fix health care.
