Memo to Emanuel and De Blasio: More Americans Than Ever Want Illegal Felons Deported

Following Donald Trump's election night victory, more Americans than ever are supportive of deporting criminal illegal immigrants, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll. In a survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted Nov. 15-16, 81 percent said they want to see illegal felons removed from the U.S. This is one percent more than last August. They also strongly support Kate's Law, which mandates at least a five-year sentence on criminals who try to return after being deported.

Illegal immigration was the cornerstone of Donald Trump's election campaign. His tough rhetoric on building a wall and deporting illegal immigrants is thought to have propelled him to the Republican nomination. He even earned more Hispanic support than Mitt Romney did in 2012.

I guess it's not crazy to believe that people who not only came here illegally, but followed it up with another serious crime, do not deserve to stay.

For those who don't remember, Kate's Law was named after a young lady named Kate Steinle who was killed by an illegal immigrant in the sanctuary city of San Francisco last summer. Despite the dangers of sanctuary cities, It is these types of localities that Mayors Rahm Emanuel and Bill de Blasio have vowed to defend against Trump's hardline stance on immigration.

Unfortunately, they are joined by dozens of others.
