Newt Tells Media He Wants to Be 'Chief Planner'

Donald Trump loyalist Newt Gingrich is “100 percent sure” he does not want a formal role in the incoming White House administration, he insisted on Wednesday. Instead, he would be happy as the "chief planner," he told reporters in Washington, D.C. Gingrich was in the nation’s capital to meet with vice president-elect Mike Pence.

When asked to expand on what that position would look like, Gingrich told Fox News’s Jenna Lee that he would be adept at scheduling and that he can bring some "unique ability" to the Trump presidency.

In terms of the cabinet choices, Gingrich said Trump was “hands-on” and "deeply immersed" in the process.

Gingrich declined to agree that the Trump transition team is in “turmoil,” simply saying “the Trump transition team is in transition.”
