Pro-life Movement Sees Major Potential in Trump White House

The pro-life movement is seeing many opportunities in a Donald Trump White House.

Trump and his running mate Mike Pence identify as pro-life and earned the endorsement of the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List. The SBA List led a grassroots effort to get Trump elected, knocking on over 1.1 million doors in battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Missouri during the campaign.

Now that it appears the Supreme Court will keep its conservative tilt, right to life groups have high hopes of court decisions that will promote a culture of life. Additionally, Congress now has the chance to move forward on legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, which performs over 300,000 abortions annually. The Republican-led administration also has the opportunity to pass laws to end brutal practices like partial-birth abortion - something Hillary Clinton would rather defend. "The most pro-abortion president we've ever seen" would also have no problem forcing Americans to fund abortions.

Just another reason why pro-life activists are cheering that Trump will be placing his name on the desk in the Oval Office.

“This is an historic moment for the pro-life movement," the Susan B. Anthony List said in a statement on Wednesday. "We are poised to make the biggest executive, legislative, and judicial advances for the protection of unborn children and their mothers since Roe v. Wade was decided. With a pro-life White House and Congress there are four central pro-life goals now within our reach: ending painful late-term abortions, codifying the Hyde Amendment, defunding Planned Parenthood, and appointing pro-life Supreme Court Justices. Donald Trump has committed to every single one of these goals."
