"Hillary Clinton Wanted the Wall"

In their discussion on immigration in Las Vegas Wednesday night, Hillary Clinton criticized her Republican opponent for his controversial plan to build a wall along the Mexican border and get Mexico to pay for it. She noted he chickened out on his plan when he traveled to Mexico.

“He had a meeting with the Mexican president,” Clinton reminded the audience. “He choked.”

Clearly, she was trying to bait the Republican nominee into devolving into another frustrated rant. He offered a more tempered response than she was hoping for, reminding her about her past support for a barrier along the Mexican border.

“Hillary Clinton wanted the wall,” Trump said. "Now, she never gets anything done, so naturally the wall wasn't built. But Hillary Clinton wanted the wall."

Her current immigration plan is no better, Trump noted.

"She wants to give amnesty, which is a disaster and very unfair to all of the people that are waiting on line for many, many years," he said. "We need strong borders."
