'God's Not Dead 2' Billboard Ruled Too 'Incendiary' for Cleveland During GOP Convention

A billboard company has denied a 'God's Not Dead 2' billboard from being displayed during next week's Republican National Committee convention in Cleveland, Ohio. The company, Orange Barrel Media, reportedly emailed The Hollywood Reporter with its explanation: the message was too "incendiary." Here's what the provocative sign would have read:

The sign, which would have measured 32 feet by 60 feet, would have draped down one side of a large building in downtown Cleveland and was to feature a picture of Melissa Joan Hart, who plays a teacher in trouble for invoking scripture in the classroom. Alongside the image of the actress was the text: “I’d rather stand with God and be judged by the world than stand with the world and be judged by God.”

That whole "judged by God" business, Orange Barrel argued, was way too “political” and “incendiary” for the convention.

Yet, as THR points out, the RNC likely would have had no problem displaying the sign, considering former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is even featured in the film.

Perhaps most infuriating is that a few atheist signs appeared to get the greenlight with seemingly no qualms.
