At Mansion Protest, Jindal Makes Planned Parenthood Activists Watch Screenings of the Disturbing Videos

When Planned Parenthood activists showed up at Gov. Bobby Jindal's (R-LA) mansion in Baton Rouge Thursday, in protest of his plan to defund the state's organization, his administration responded in an unexpected, yet powerful way: they made the protesters face the inhumanity they were supporting:

In a news release this morning, Governor Jindal says his office will set up a movie screen and speakers and play on loop the videos of Planned Parenthood employees talking about the harvesting of unborn babies to sell on the open market.

Wow. Well played, governor.

Jindal explained that the activists are free to protest his action against Planned Parenthood, but they will have to do so over the sights and sounds of Planned Parenthood employees harvesting fetal organs for profit, as more than one of the chilling videos has revealed.

“Planned Parenthood has a right to protest today, but Governor Jindal’s office will ensure that anyone who shows up will have to witness first-hand the offensive actions of the organization they are supporting,” the Governor’s office said this morning.

Despite Jindal's seemingly sincere intention, Louisiana State Director of Planned Parenthood Melissa Flourneoy said the governor's action was nothing more than a political "stunt":

"Governor Jindal isn’t even in Louisiana today, but he’s made sure to prove that he’s always ready to put politics before Louisianan’s health. This stunt is proof he doesn’t have any real answers for the people of Louisiana. He is ready to cut health care for thousands of low-income women and men without batting an eye. Because for Jindal, it's all politics all the time.

Flourneoy did not say if she'd seen the Center for Medical Progress videos. Gov. Jindal did. He, like many of his pro-life colleagues, were disgusted by what they saw (workers treating aborted babies like goods and services, keeping clients in the dark, etc.) and are launching investigations into the organization and introducing bills to defund it.

Louisiana is one of three states taking the lead on Operation Defund Planned Parenthood. More than a dozen states are investigating the organization's practices.

The best case scenario at the governor's mansion would be as follows: at least one of the protesters who showed up to Jindal's door to demand "women's rights" paid attention to just 5 minutes of the video footage, threw those pro-Planned Parenthood signs in the trash, and joined the right side of the fight.
