NRSC Drops Roy Moore After Child Molestation Allegations

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has dropped Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore after Thursday's explosive Washington Post article featuring claims he sexually molested a 14-year-old girl when he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. The story was corroborated by dozens of other women, and three others said that Moore pursued a relationship with them when they too were in their teens. The NRSC will no longer raise money for Moore's campaign.

Now, the NRSC is no longer listed as part of Moore's joint fundraising committee. The committee still includes the Moore campaign, the Alabama GOP, and the Republican National Committee. (For now.)

Many prominent Republicans, including Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), and President Donald Trump have said that if the claims against Moore are true, they do not think he is fit to be in the Senate.

The NRSC works to get Republicans elected to the Senate. Clearly they've taken a stand on these disturbing allegations against Roy Moore.

The election will be held on December 12. Moore currently has a lead in the polls.
