CNN Parts Ways With Reza Aslan After Anti-Trump Tweets

CNN will not do a second season of the show "Believer with Reza Aslan" following host Reza Aslan's anti-Trump Twitter tirade. Aslan called President Trump a "piece of s--t" and a "man baby" for his reaction to the recent terrorist attack in London. He eventually apologized and said he should have used a "better choice of words."

The "piece of s--t" tweet has since been deleted, but here's a screenshot.

In a statement, CNN said that they wished Aslan well but they will "not move forward" with more episodes of the show.

“CNN has decided to not move forward with production on the acquired series ‘Believer with Reza Aslan,'” the network said in a statement. “We wish Reza and his production team all the best. “

"Believer" was not without controversy either. During one episode of the show, Aslan met with an obscure cannibalistic Hindu sect and ate a human brain. More mainstream Hindus were outraged by the episode and the portrayal of their faith, and Aslan was accused of being "Hinduphobic."

Following the profane tweet, other old tweets were dug up, including one where he wished rape on then-Congressman Todd Aiken (R-MO).
