Tonight is the final presidential debate between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump. Election Day is a mere 20 days away, and for some people that can't come soon enough. Given that the election has dragged on for an astounding 574 days since Ted Cruz announced his candidacy in March 2015, election fatigue is a very real thing.
Enter Excedrin--as in, the headache medicine--whose social media team sent what some are calling the "tweet of the debate" hours before the debate even started.
They then followed it up with a tweet asserting that a debate headache was "unavoidable."
People were amused:
@Excedrin This is an example of good marketing. Well done.— Sam Panini (@SampathPanini) October 19, 2016
@Excedrin give the genius who came up with this a raise ??????— Fiza Bo Biza (@fiza76) October 19, 2016
@Excedrin this just made my morning. Probably one of the best promoted tweets ever— Tom John (@tomjohn01) October 19, 2016
And then there's this, probably accurate, observation:
@Excedrin it looks like we're gonna need at least a 4 year supply!— Scott - ? (@ScottJaxFD) October 19, 2016
Tonight's debate starts at 9 p.m. ET.
