An Army Officer Just Won Miss USA

Miss District of Columbia USA Deshauna Barber, a captain in the U.S. Army, won the Miss USA pageant Sunday night, besting 51 other contestants for the crown.

During the question and answer round, Barber was asked about whether or not she agreed with the Pentagon's decision to open up combat roles to women. Barber spoke about her own military background and said that she thought the Pentagon made the right choice.

Miss USA will now move on to the Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in December.
