How many trees had to die so that Annie Leonard could create and distribute her documentary, "The Story of Stuff"? Since its release in 2007, it has been viewed more than 12 million times on her website, StoryOfStuff.com, and is shown in more than 7,000 classrooms.

Leonard, a former Greenpeace activist, has produced several films condemning the consumption of, well, anything and telling everyone that it's the government's job to take care of us. Is this someone you want proselytizing to your children?

Leonard is ironically able to create her own standard of living by telling everyone else to reduce theirs. No word yet on how she feels about scaring children out of buying Legos.
