Well, well, well. As the MSM continues to ignore the litany of manifest Obama failures and proclaim the Romney campaign dead on a weekly basis, the American people have decided . . . they can't trust the MSM coverage.
This new Gallup poll should (but won't) alert the media that its unabashed Obama-love is flushing its professional integrity into the sewer. It finds that 60% have little or no confidence that the news will be reported fairly. And note that:
The current gap between negative and positive views -- 20 percentage points -- is by far the highest Gallup has recorded since it began regularly asking the question in the 1990s.
Only 26% of Republicans and 31% of independents believe they have a "great deal" or a "fair amount" of trust in the reporting. Interestingly, independents are the most sharply negative compared with 2008. They know they're not getting the full story.
Just to give you a laugh, here are some of the guidelines from The Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics:
[P]ublic enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist's credibility.

Does anyone -- anyone! -- think the networks and the big daily newspapers have come anywhere close to respecting these standards?
