Given the slimness of the possibility that Rick Santorum can actually win this year's presidential nomination, it is a mystery to me why he continues to take shots at Mitt Romney, as he did in tonight's speech.  Santorum has always had something of a likability problem; why would he compound it by putting himself

 in a position where he can be seen as handicapping the likely GOP nominee?  Santorum obviously intends to run again -- and whether it ends up being in 2016 or 2020, he does himself no favors by doing the President's dirty work for him.
