A Political Boomerang

For years, we've all heard the Democrats complain about Republicans' use of "wedge issues" to "divide" the country. Well, now, as my Townhall column points out,

through their handling of the health care issue, they've created the mother of all wedges -- for Republicans. And they've put themselves in a position where they're forced to choose between pacifying their left-wing base, or reaching out to moderates and independents -- not a pretty place to be.
