The Only Unvetted Candidate: Obama

Michael Steele, former Lt. Governor of Maryland and a victim of identity theft (exploited by Chuck Schumer's Democratic Senatorial Committee) is telling Fox News that friends of his on the Democrat side are reporting that some on their side have Sarah Palin's social security number.

The treatment of Governor Palin is reminiscent of nothing so much as the "high tech lynching" inflicted on Justice Thomas and even to some degree on Dan Quayle.  In America, the left considers itself the exclusive voice of women, minorities and young people.

Conservatives like Palin, Thomas and Quayle (a fresh new face like Palin, at the time) therefore pose an existential threat to lefties, at least in the minds of some of them, and allow them to justify behavior that is, frankly, unjustifiable.

After what's been done to Governor Palin, please let's hear no more whining from the likes of John Kerry about the "Republican attack machine."

And while all decent Americans certainly appreciate Barack's condemnation of the media feeding frenzy around Sarah Palin, it occurs to me that it must be nice to be in his position.  Who needs to launch attacks when the press will do it for you?  This holds true whether it was his US Senate primary opponent (the press found and reported on allegations of spousal abuse against Blair Hull), his US Senate general election opponent (remember Jack Ryan and the sex clubs) and now Sarah Palin.

So now we know more than we need to about Bristol Palin's unborn child -- while Obama's own ties to Tony Rezko and Bill Ayers go happily unexplored by the press.

The truth is that there's only one candidate in this race that's been pretty well left unvetted by the press . . . and that's Barack Obama.

Off to an LA television station to talk Palin . . .
