Re; Can A Mom Be A VP?

Matt: As I noted this morning, it's not remarkable that some people privately wonder about the mom issue.  What's disgusting is the hypocritical double standard on the part of the press.

For thirty years, liberal elites have told everyone that being a wife and mother isn't a "real" job, and that any implication that women and men aren't exactly the same -- with identical talents, potentials, and life goals -- was just unacceptably sexist.  We've been told repeatedly that the presence of a father and/or mother in the home is not really necessary to the happiness or well-being of a child (that's the premise, in fact, of the whole gay marriage movement).  We've been told that women are entitled to the same career satisfactions as men, and that how they manage their families is their own  business.

So, OK, Republicans have taken them at their word, and nominated a smart, strong, fabulous governor (and wife and mom) to be our VP.  And now we learn that the elites don't really mean everything they've been saying for the last 30 years. They don't think women with young children can or should hold responsible jobs.  Or else, they're willing to trash every formerly-expressed conviction in furtherance of their political agenda.

Are they declaring it open season on women with young children who work outside the home? Does this mean it's OK for us to take a look at female reporters' family situations and decide whether or not it's "appropriate" for them to hold such high powered jobs if they have young children at home?  How 'bout Democrat female elected officials?

Wow.  And Hillary thinks the media was sexist and biased when it came to her.
