Some Democrats, like 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), have been outspoken in their opposition to President Donald Trump ordering the killing of Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani. But Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has a plan to get the Democrats on the record about the operation.
Cruz plans to introduce a resolution in the Senate that would commend the Trump administration for killing Soleimani, Fox News reported. He did something similar in 2011 when the Obama administration killed Osama Bin Laden, which received unanimous support in the Senate.
According to the Texas senator, this resolution is a way "to honor [the] military & intel community who carried out the mission."
Qasem Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands across Mideast, incl hundreds of Americans. Killing him was act of justice. When Congress returns I plan to intro resolution to honor military & intel community who carried out mission.https://t.co/LNXIgj0NqS
