De Blasio: Anti-Semitism Stems From A 'Right-Wing Movement'

New York City turned presidential candidate Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) on Tuesday said anti-Semitism is a "right-wing movement," despite the Left's continual anti-Semitic remarks.

“I think the ideological movement that is anti-Semitic is the right-wing movement,” de Blasio said during a press conference. “I want to be very, very clear, the violent threat, the threat that is ideological is very much from the right."

De Blasio said most of those who are anti-Semitic have a history that dates back to Nazism and fascism.

According to the New York Post, hate crimes in New York City has increased drastically. "Hate crimes against all minority groups are up 64% compared to this time last year. Anti-Semitic incidents have spiked by 90%," the Post reported.

Those on the City Council, however, disagreed with de Blasio's assumption.

“I don’t agree with the mayor,” Chaim Deutsch, a Brooklyn Democrat, told the Post. “I have not seen any white supremacists coming in here committing these hate crimes."

New York Police Department Chief Dermot Shea said, during the same press conference, that those committing these crimes come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

“A simple look at where anti-Semitic hate crimes have occurred just disproves this– unless you count central Brooklyn as the home of a vast right-wing conspiracy,” Staten Island Republican Borelli said. “Bill de Blasio regularly says stupid things, but this is literally the stupidest effing thing he’s ever said."

So...let's get this straight. De Blasio seems to think it's right wingers who are anti-Semitic, yet we're the ones who have long protected Israel.

De Blasio seems to think right wingers are anti-Semitic but progressives, like Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) continually make anti-Semitic comments and Democrats defend their point of view.

De Blasio seems to think right wingers are anti-Semitic yet Democrats can't even call out Omar and Tlaib, by name, for their anti-Semitic tropes.

This guy needs to have a serious look in the mirror – and at his party – if this is the conclusion he's come to. The Left has continually pushed their anti-Semitic stances by taking aim at President Trump's support of Israel and their disdain for Benjamin Netanyahu. They've run with this notion that politicians have "dual loyalty" if they believe in standing up for Israelis and the Jewish people.

If anything, anti-Semitism stems from progressives' fear of telling extremist members of Congress that their anti-Semitic comments are not only unacceptable but intolerable. Instead, the House passed a resolution slamming religious discrimination. They couldn't even say it was directed at Omar and Tlaib.
