I have been on social media, specifically Twitter/X, for almost two decades. Prior to that, I spent a lot of time blogging and getting into discussions with various and sundry Leftists in the comment sections. Throughout those years, the Leftists I've talked to have all insisted they are morally and intellectually superior to me, an icky, bigoted conservative.
This was especially made clear whenever there was a mass shooting. Those Leftists would all clamor for gun control, insisting I — and other innocent Americans — had to forfeit our Second Amendment rights to "save the life of one child."
It's absurd on its face, of course. Law-abiding gun owners are not a threat to the lives and safety of children. The Left's accusations that we're the violent and dangerous ones are actually confessions, given the surge of Leftist violence in recent years, including multiple mass shootings carried out by "trans identifying" individuals.
Because the reality is this, the Left only cares about one thing: itself. They do not care about women, minorities, or children and there's no better illustration of that than this disgusting story out of Seattle, where Leftists have decided the helipad at Seattle Children's Hospital is problematic.

Seattle Children’s Hospital says ongoing efforts by some Laurelhurst residents to limit helipad access are adding strain to emergency transports for children who need lifesaving care.
On Tuesday, a person claiming to be a medical pilot posted about his concerns regarding chopper flights to Seattle Children's Hospital on X, which led to a larger discussion on Reddit. KING 5 News reached out to Seattle Children's Hospital to confirm the pilot's claims.
According to that pilot, helicopters flying children to Seattle Children’s have to weigh whether a transport is urgent enough to land at the hospital or whether to land a mile away and take the patient by ambulance because of noise concerns in the surrounding neighborhood.
KING5, Seattle's NBC affiliate, notes that the hospital receives three or fewer helicopter transports a week, and that the children transported on the helicopters are almost always admitted to the intensive care unit. Speaking as a medical professional, those helicopter flights are not cheap, and they're done when seconds will make the difference between life and death for a child.
But for the privileged, spoiled, and Leftist residents of Laurelhurst, those children's lives do not matter. They want the helicopters to land a mile away and use ground transport to get the critically ill child to the hospital. I suppose if that child dies, they won't care, either.
And what happens if a bunch of Antifa-BLM "protesters" decided to shut down the roads to the hospital? Oh well, Mom and Dad. Your child must be sacrificed on the altar of the Left's latest political outrage du jour. Much in the same way the Left said businesses have insurance, they probably believe parents can just have another child to replace the one who died because the Karen in Laurelhurst didn't like hearing a helicopter a couple of times a week.
Beyond literally putting children's lives at risk, let's extrapolate this mentality to its logical conclusion. I live in the flight path of Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport. When the planes are landing over my neighborhood, I can see the headlights from my living room window. What if my neighbors and I decided that noise was just intolerable and pushed to shut down the airport?
After all, Milwaukee travelers could go to O'Hare and catch a plane. Until the residents on Chicago's far north side decide that noise is too much for them to handle, too. Of course, the Left would love that. Ending leisure travel for most Americans has long been one of their communistic climate goals, and that would be the avenue on which to do it.
It would be a violation of our rights, of course, and a serious one at that. But such a violation pales in comparison to what's happening in Seattle: a handful of Leftists are sentencing children to death so they don't hear a helicopter a few times a week.
The lesson we should all take away from Seattle is this: the Left is not moral. It is not compassionate. It does not care about anyone or anything outside of its own agenda. They will let children die rather than be uncomfortable for a few seconds. And that means these people cannot be given power over the rest of us. Ever.
