Mrs. Obama's National Day of Service

To commemorate Martin Luther King Day on January 19, Michelle Obama is proposing a "National Day of Service" as a part of Barack Obama's "Renew America" initiative.

Michelle urges other to volunteer "in the spirit of community and national commitment" and says she and her husband will be doing so at an event in Washington D.C.

DC Mayor Adrian Fenty will be host a public event to assemble care packages for members of the military. Michelle didn't say she'd be there, but I'd say that's a pretty safe bet where the Obamas will show up to volunteer.
