Ouch: Crowd Erupts in Laughter When Charlie Crist Calls Hillary 'Honest' During Debate

Democrat Charlie Crist was not looking for laughs from the audience at Monday night's debate for the FL-13 Congressional District House seat, but he sure got some. Crist, who is challenging the Republican incumbent David Jolly, got a rise out of the crowd by suggesting Hillary Clinton was steady, strong...and honest.

“I am proud of Hillary Clinton," he said. "I think she’s been a very good secretary of state, a very good senator from the state of New York. The thing I like most about her is I believe she is steady, I believe that she is strong, I believe that she is honest, and I look forward to voting for her.”

That last part was met with audible roars and chuckles.

Had Crist looked at some statistics before taking the stage, he wouldn't have been surprised by the reaction he received. Poll after poll taken this past year shows that voters have little to no trust in the former secretary of state. Her unfolding email scandal and conflicts of interest at the Clinton Foundation are just two reasons she's inspired little faith.

Crist may not have his facts straight, but he sure knows how to entertain an audience.
