Brennan Blasts Trump: 'You Will Take Your Rightful Place As A Disgraced Demagogue In The Dustbin of History’

Former CIA Director John Brennan, (who describes himself on his Twitter account as a “Nonpartisan American who is very concerned about our collective future”), blasted President Trump in a tweet Saturday morning:

“When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history.” Brennan wrote. “You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America...America will triumph over you.”

Brennan published his scathing tweet in response to the president’s tweet in which he expressed happiness about the firing of Andrew McCabe and attacked former FBI Director James Comey:

“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy,” Trump said. “Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (R) retweeted Brennan’s statement and noted, “This man had the power to search every American’s records without a warrant. What’s disgraceful is attacking the Bill of Rights and the freedom of every American.”

Former FBI Director James Comey, whose forthcoming book is slated for release next month, also posted on Twitter, saying, “Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.”
