On February 22, 2024, 22-year-old Laken Riley went for a run as she always did. That morning, however, she ran into illegal alien Jose Ibarra. Ibarra, from Venezuela, grabbed Riley and tried to rape her. According to prosecutors, Riley fought back against Ibarra for almost 20 minutes, with her smartwatch recording every second until Riley's heart stopped at 9:28 AM.
Her heart stopped because Ibarra, mad that Riley fought back, ended up bashing her head in with a rock. Ibarra, who entered the U.S. illegally in September 2022, was — like so many other illegal aliens — apprehended by Border Patrol and released.
Hallie Helgeson, 18, and Brady Heiling, 19, were killed in Dane County, Wisconsin after the car Brady was driving was hit by Noelia Saray Martinez Avila, who was drunk and had multiple traffic violations against her. Avila is also an illegal alien.
And in Fairfax County, Virginia, half of all murderers in the county are illegal aliens. Most recently, 19-year-old Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos killed 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch near a popular running trail. Puch has a young daughter, and Cedillos-Campos reportedly tried to set Puch's body on fire after he murdered her.

They are just some of the countless Angel Families, a grown and sad group of parents, grandparents, children, and siblings who lost loved ones to violent criminal illegal aliens. President Trump held a remembrance ceremony in the White House back in February, around the second anniversary of Laken Riley's murder. I wrote about it here; go listen to what these families have suffered.
So why is Pope Leo saying it's not Christian to deport these monsters?
Pope Leo XIV says that it’s not Christian to deport illegal aliens.

Instead, he says that we should recognize the reasons that caused them to leave their countries. pic.twitter.com/GM0MctTXWU
It is a failure of the one moral responsibility of government — to protect its citizens — not to deport them. It is a moral failing of Christianity to tolerate the unfettered illegal immigration of violent, military-aged men who rape and murder innocent citizens.
The problems that caused them to leave their countries will never be solved unless the border is shut and the illegals deported, Padre.

Otherwise, why would they stay home and fix the issue?
They can come here to get free stuff instead. https://t.co/gLAFv7BJ8M
I have repeatedly pointed to the Catechism of the Catholic Church on this issue (emphasis added):
2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.
Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.
We are a nation that is $40 trillion in debt. We spend, at a minimum, $150 billion on illegal aliens every year. And now we can't even deport those who refuse to respect our laws? Who assault, rape, and murder innocent people?
In what world is that Christian? In what world is it morally acceptable to tell British girls they have to simply lie back and think of England as they're raped by Islamists, because sending them back to Afghanistan is morally unacceptable? In what world is it okay to look at Laken Riley's mother or Carmen Puch's daughter and tell them it's wrong to deport the monsters who killed their daughter and robbed them of a mother?
Go to Vatican City and try to illegally enter its borders. Let me know how that works out for you. Is it un-Christian for the Vatican to enforce its immigration laws? No, but it is hypocritical to hold America to a standard the Vatican doesn't adhere to.
Christianity, much like the Constitution, is not a suicide pact. We do not have to tolerate violent illegal aliens in the name of some warped view of the teachings of Jesus.
Quite the contrary. He threw the money changers out of the temple. We can throw the rapists, murderers, and welfare moochers out of our country.
We have a moral obligation to protect innocent citizens from criminals, regardless of their skin color, religious status, or the conditions in their home country.
If we had done that, Laken Riley would still be alive. So would Carmen Puch and Hallie Helgeson and Brady Heiling and Rachel Morin and a long list of Americans who died thanks to illegal alien crime.
They deserved protection. They deserve a government that enforces immigration law and regulates its borders, and that includes deporting illegal aliens as soon as authorities are aware of them.
Anything less is a grave sin.
