Connery, a Scottish-born actor, began starring as the deadly debonair British agent James Bond in 1962 in "Dr. No." He went on to star in "From Russia with Love," "Goldfinger," "Thunderball," and "You Only Live Twice." As other actors took the baton from him to play 007, Connery pursued other roles and would later star as Harrison Ford's father in the final Indiana Jones installment, "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." He never did learn to stop calling Indy "Junior."

Bond has also been played by Sir Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and most recently Daniel Craig. But most Bond fans agree that no one so perfectly captured Ian Flemings's fictional character than Connery.

The actor had made such an impact that he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000.

His fellow actors have begun to mourn their very talented friend.

RIP to another legend.
