Let's do a thought experiment, shall we? Imagine a school system, or even a statewide school system, coming up with a brand new policy that said, "From this point forward, a student's grades will be kept secret from their parents." This would be a personal secret that the teacher would share with the student, maybe even the school principal or the school administration, but keep from parents. Now, this sounds ridiculous on the face of it, of course. This would never be a real policy of any school system. But do you see where we're going with this?
