I'm told that Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony about President Donald Trump's actions and attitude on the afternoon of January 6, 2021, was compelling and devastating for the former president and will surely be the downfall of his legacy as the 45th president while also precluding any hope of his potential viability for office as the 47th president. I'm familiar with all the political experts who are telling me this, especially the "fellow conservatives" and "former Republicans" who are screaming it at me on cable news, Twitter, and infrequently visited websites, because I have very vivid memories of them relaying these prognostications several times over the past several years.

When the Inside Edition audio tape of then-Hollywood Democrat Trump conveying tawdry and braggadocious profanities with a fellow-TV personality about how men in Hollywood treat women, I was told his candidacy was disqualified.

When James Comey revealed his "Dear Diary" memos to himself about what he claims then-President-Elect Trump said to him after the former FBI director disclosed lies about the infamous "Russian pee tape" as part of Hillary Clinton's diabolical opposition research disguised as "Russian Compromat" against the incoming president, I was told his presidency was over before it began.

When details of his conversations with foreign leaders like the presidents of Taiwan and Mexico were illegally disclosed to the media in the early stages of his presidency, I was told he would be crippled and unable to proceed as America's head of state.

When befuddled and ineffective Robert Mueller was selected as a special prosecutor to "get the goods" on Trump and his obvious treason with Vladamir Putin, I was told that the "walls were closing in on" the president.

Oh... those walls... they kept on closing, didn't they?

When lying, felonious Adam Schiff paraded himself before every video camera in DC claiming he had Gnostic-like secret evidence showing direct involvement between Trump and the Kremlin, and it would only be a matter of time before the super-serious Schiff could make that evidence public, I was told Trump was toast.

When Michael Avenotti was celebrated as a potential presidential candidate by the likes of Brian Stelter and Ana Navarro while he charmed Chris Cuomo and Lawrence O'Donnell with his plan to prosecute Donald Trump and maybe even replace him in the White House, I was told that the plucky, bald attorney in LA was Trump's worst nightmare.

(Side note: Avenatti's now in jail.)

When Lt. Col Alexander Vindman revealed that he had violated his duty to the Constitution and his chain of command by accusing the Commander in Chief of being a traitor for daring to execute a foreign policy toward Ukraine that the brilliant and enlightened Vindman disagreed with, I was told that Trump was on the verge of being removed from office by an impeachment proceeding.

I could go on and on and on, but I think by now, one gets the picture.

So, forgive my skepticism as I hear the same people say the same thing about the same man with just a few details altered to keep the same story fresh.

It took just a few hours for one of the most outlandish of Hutchinson's claims to be debunked. She claimed Trump had assaulted a Secret Service officer, attempted to seize control of his presidential vehicle (while sitting in the back seat, apparently) and demanded to be taken to Capitol Hill on January 6. Almost immediately, two different witnesses announced they were willing to go under oath and contradict Hutchinson's "devastating" testimony.

The response from our "walls are closing in" experts in the media? "Oh, that claim wasn't even the most serious accusation, so it doesn't really matter if it wasn't true."

Right.

Believe what you want and who you want or don't. But, be confident in your own sanity if you dare to look upon this latest episode with skepticism.

After all, these same people also told us that Brett Kavanagh's chances of becoming a Supreme Court Justice went up in flames after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's "compelling and devastating" testimony. Meanwhile, Kavanaugh wears a black robe to work every day and just helped strike down Roe v. Wade

Have any of these people earned your trust?
