People need to get even. People need to see that if they cross anyone, they are going to get some payback. "That's just vengeance!" some might say. Well, yes. Vengeance is important. That's why we do it. Now, the left doesn't believe in God or anything, so think of it as an evolutionary issue. Why would human beings develop the need for vengeance if it didn't have an evolutionary effect? If it wouldn't help the survival of the fittest? Vengeance is important because it goes to our sense of justice. There has to be accountability. There has to be a consequence. Or, you feel like a sap and a sucker. I don't think anyone wants to do that.
